[00:04:17] For most of you, you are aware that most of the time we come on live.

[00:04:25] I think I'm going to ease into this thing this time around.

[00:04:30] You guys know I've been going through a few things.

[00:04:33] My family's been going through a few things.

[00:04:37] Satan has been busy.

[00:04:38] We've had some death in our family.

[00:04:42] We've had some personal trials and tribulations with health in my family.

[00:04:48] We ended season six on a wonderful note.

[00:04:51] And I came to you guys while I was on break.

[00:04:55] And we jumped over into Judges and against God's advice.

[00:05:02] He told me to take that break.

[00:05:04] And I was just so excited about getting over to the next chapter.

[00:05:09] I started off with Judges one, two, and three.

[00:05:13] And then boom, out of nowhere, things started to happen.

[00:05:19] But glory be to God.

[00:05:20] Everything works together for his good.

[00:05:24] And he told us that in Roman 8, 28.

[00:05:28] And everything works together for his good.

[00:05:32] So I'm going to lean and I'm going to stand on that.

[00:05:35] I thank those that have reached out to me personally.

[00:05:42] And just made a way out of no way.

[00:05:45] Was there to talk to me when I picked up the phone.

[00:05:51] And those that just sent their prayers through texts and all that good stuff.

[00:08:34] He had a stroke on Sunday while he was in the pulpit.

[00:08:38] And I said, Lord, I don't know what you're doing up there.

[00:08:44] But I got to remember that everything is working for our good.

[00:08:50] And sometimes you get stumped.

[00:08:53] You get stumped, especially when things are just like swish, swish, swish, just out of the blue.

[00:08:58] But I'm reminded that not the whole time that I took this scheduled break was difficult times.

[00:09:11] We started it out with prayer and worship.

[00:09:16] That's what I started it out with.

[00:09:18] I started it out with prayer and worship.

[00:09:22] And I was in this room redoing some things.

[00:09:27] I wanted to come to you guys with a new background.

[00:09:32] I'm still working on some stuff.

[00:09:34] You can't really tell.

[00:09:35] But I had to patch some holes in the wall where I took down pictures and things like that.

[00:09:40] And we got some comfy, cozy seating because we're going to be getting out of the community a little bit more.

[00:09:47] And perhaps I may bring some people into my makeshift studio and have them sit here and we just chop it up.

[00:09:57] Or I might just sit over there when we do our Freedom Fridays.

[00:10:01] We'll continue to do our Freedom Fridays on Fridays.

[00:10:04] And when we don't have guests, we'll jump into the word.

[00:10:12] I don't want to put too much on my plate right now.

[00:10:15] I know the ideas that I had swirling around in my head prior to, you know, I guess you could say hell breaking loose in my life.

[00:10:28] I think I'm going to slow down and take it one day at a time and let things, you know, be what they're going to be.

[00:10:36] With that being said, we took 10 minutes up on saying that.

[00:10:40] I also want to thank you guys that did remember that it was our second year anniversary.

[00:10:49] We've been in the game for two years now, going on three.

[00:10:53] Glory be to God.

[00:10:54] And I am so glad that he gave me a voice, not only a voice for his word, which is the most important part, but a voice.

[00:11:03] He was able to get me out of my shell that I had crawled into some time ago when life was falling apart a little over 10 years ago for me.

[00:11:15] And I was putting things back together.

[00:11:17] And he gave me a voice.

[00:11:19] He gave me my voice back.

[00:11:21] I've always been a talkative person.

[00:11:23] So I thank God for that.

[00:11:25] And as I was doing and, you know, having a lot on my mind, asking God why this and why that and why this had to happen and all the stuff, all the questions we ask.

[00:11:40] He told me to get up.

[00:11:43] It was Tom.

[00:11:44] He reminded me of Saul and Samuel.

[00:11:51] When he had told Samuel that Saul would no longer be king because Saul disobeyed an order that Samuel had gotten from God to tell to him.

[00:12:05] He wasn't to move or do anything or offer up any sacrificial offerings.

[00:12:11] Samuel was supposed to do that.

[00:12:13] Saul grew impatient and did it on his own.

[00:12:16] And he forfeited his opportunity to be king.

[00:12:20] God had handpicked him.

[00:12:23] And as we go on in that book, we find out Saul puts David on the run because David is the next one that God chooses to lead his people.

[00:12:34] With all that being said, that moment when Samuel was mourning for Saul, God told him to get up.

[00:12:48] Take up your cup.

[00:12:50] Get up.

[00:12:50] How long are you going to stay down there mourning?

[00:12:54] And as he brought people into my life and as I had conversations, as I got angry, as I grew impatient, as I felt like I just did not want to do anything.

[00:13:06] I knew that I was getting back to this portion.

[00:13:10] But I just didn't know that I was going to get back this fast.

[00:13:14] Over the weekend, he had a long talk with your girl.

[00:13:19] He said, get up.

[00:13:21] Continue to do my work.

[00:13:22] It's not about you.

[00:13:24] Let the dead bury the dead.

[00:13:27] It's not about you.

[00:13:29] So here we are.

[00:13:31] So we're going to do a quick recap for those of you are new to the show.

[00:13:52] We're going to do a quick recap for you guys.

[00:13:54] Today is probably going to run a little longer than 30 minutes, but after today, we're going to keep it strictly 30 minutes, and we're going to keep it moving.

[00:14:03] Your girl's got her hands full this season, and I want to be able to do everything that I have on my list that I told God that I was going to do.

[00:14:15] So listen, let's do a recap of chapter 1, 2, and 3, the book of Judges.

[00:14:20] As we go into chapter 1, now after the death of Joshua, it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying,

[00:14:29] Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first to fight against them?

[00:14:35] And the Lord said, Judah shall go up.

[00:14:38] Behold, I will deliver the land into his hands.

[00:14:41] And Judah said unto Simon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites, and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot.

[00:14:52] So Simon went with him.

[00:14:55] And Judah went up, and the Lord delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hands, and they slew of them in Bezak 10,000 men.

[00:15:06] And they found Adonah Bezak in Bezak, and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

[00:15:18] Adonah Bezak fled, and they pursued him, and they caught him, and they cut off his thumbs and his great toes.

[00:15:28] And Adonah Bezak said, Three scores and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered there under my table, and I have done so.

[00:15:43] So God has reacquainted me, and I brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

[00:15:51] So this is in the beginning.

[00:15:54] As we know, as we got out of the book of Joshua, the children, they told Joshua that they were going to follow the Lord.

[00:16:04] Their exact words, as I flip back to the book of Joshua, their exact words was like, listen,

[00:16:11] And the Lord your God, he shall expel them from before you and drive them out of your sight, and you shall possess their sight, and you shall suppress, you shall possess their land as the Lord your God has promised you.

[00:16:31] And on his dying bed, that was verse 23.

[00:16:36] That was verse, chapter 23, verse 5.

[00:16:39] Holy Spirit, have your way.

[00:16:41] Come on in here.

[00:16:43] Come on in here, Lord.

[00:16:45] Get this tongue untied for me.

[00:16:47] So that was chapter 23, verse 5.

[00:16:51] As we go on over to chapter 24, Joshua's dying bed, he tells them, look, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

[00:17:02] And he told them, he said, look, you need to put away all your false gods.

[00:17:09] You need to stop serving their fathers.

[00:17:13] And you need to serve ye the Lord.

[00:17:16] And he said, if this seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose this day whom ye will serve, whether the God which your fathers serve, that were on the other side of the flood, or the God of the Amorites, in whose lands ye dwell.

[00:17:35] But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

[00:17:38] And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods.

[00:17:46] As we get to the end of that, in chapter 24, verse 29, it says, and it came to pass after these things that Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died being a hundred and ten years old.

[00:18:02] And they buried him in the border of his inheritance, in Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Amath, Seara, which is Mount Ephraim on the north side of the hill of Gash.

[00:18:18] And Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders that overlived the days of Joshua, which had known all the works of the Lord that he had done for Israel.

[00:18:34] And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up from Egypt and buried in Shechem in a parcel of the ground, which Jacob brought of the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of syrup.

[00:18:52] And it became an inheritance of the children of Joshua.

[00:18:56] And Eliezer, the son of Aaron died, and they buried him in the hill that pertained to the Philistines, his sons, which was given to him in Mount Ephraim.

[00:19:09] And I said all of that to say Joshua has died.

[00:19:15] The children promised that they were going to serve the Lord too.

[00:19:21] They told Joshua, we're going to serve the Lord too.

[00:19:26] Joshua even gave him a warning.

[00:19:28] He said, ye are witnesses against yourself that you have chosen the Lord to serve him.

[00:19:36] And they said, we are witnesses.

[00:19:38] Where else have we heard that?

[00:19:41] I can remember when God said he looked for someone that was as splendorous, as righteous as him and could find no one.

[00:19:54] So he had to swear by himself.

[00:19:58] When did he do this?

[00:19:59] When he was making promises to Abraham.

[00:20:03] When he told Abraham, look, go outside.

[00:20:08] Look up in the sky.

[00:20:10] Look at the stars.

[00:20:11] He said, your descendants.

[00:20:15] Your children's children's children are going to be plenty, as many as the grains of sin.

[00:20:26] So here we had the people swear by themselves.

[00:20:31] They were witnesses to themselves that they were going to serve the Lord.

[00:20:35] But as we got over in Judges, they began to do so.

[00:20:41] They did ask the Lord, who should go up next?

[00:20:44] And the Lord said, Judah should go up to possess his land.

[00:20:47] Because you got to remember, Moses had allocated a little bit of the land.

[00:20:53] Joshua had come along and continued to allocate and encourage the people to go up and fight for what was rightfully theirs.

[00:21:00] What God had rightfully given unto them.

[00:21:06] And they did so.

[00:21:08] As we get over into chapter 2, we find out that they're a wicked generation.

[00:21:20] They're a wicked generation.

[00:21:24] Caleb comes along.

[00:21:26] He marries off his daughter to Alphneel.

[00:21:30] Alphneel helps him possess his land.

[00:21:34] And my commentary tells me in a few other books, because I like to dig a little bit,

[00:21:39] that Caleb was probably off somewhere helping everybody else get settled.

[00:21:45] But if you guys remember, he did have that conversation with Joshua and said,

[00:21:51] Look, hey, remember what God promised me.

[00:21:56] So he took his land.

[00:21:59] The children's children were supposed to go off and take their land.

[00:22:02] But guess what?

[00:22:05] They did it in such a way, they left behind inhabitants on the land that God had promised them.

[00:22:17] They let the Canaanites dwell among them.

[00:22:26] And as it was, God had told them back in Deuteronomy, he said, Look, don't worry about what you see.

[00:22:37] Don't worry about the people.

[00:22:40] Don't worry about that stuff.

[00:22:42] Don't even worry about the chariots of iron.

[00:22:46] Because guess what?

[00:22:48] I'm going to deliver the people, the chariots of iron, into your hands.

[00:22:53] I will be with you all the way.

[00:22:55] He told them back in Deuteronomy, chapter 20.

[00:23:01] He told them what to look out for.

[00:23:03] He told them what he was going to do.

[00:23:05] But this new wicked generation, the children's children.

[00:23:12] Because you got to remember, the first generation, they died in the wilderness.

[00:23:19] Murmuring, complaining.

[00:23:23] A couple days journey turned into a 40-year journey, just walking in circles.

[00:23:28] So as they began to die out, their offspring got to go into the land overflowing with milk and honey.

[00:23:38] With the big fat grapes and the figs.

[00:23:43] What God had promised them, the palms.

[00:23:47] He had promised them all of this.

[00:23:50] But what happened?

[00:23:52] And I said this as I closed out chapter 3.

[00:23:58] Somebody forgot to tell the children not to leave the gate open.

[00:24:04] What do I mean by that?

[00:24:06] Not to leave the gate open.

[00:24:09] Somebody forgot to tell the children,

[00:24:13] Hey, look here.

[00:24:14] When you go into this land,

[00:24:19] God wants you to destroy everything that moves.

[00:24:23] That's not worshiping him.

[00:24:25] That don't look like you, talk like you.

[00:24:28] And worship your God.

[00:24:31] El Shaddai.

[00:24:33] Jehovah.

[00:24:35] The great I am.

[00:24:36] As he told Moses.

[00:24:39] They let five lords.

[00:24:45] As I got into chapter 3.

[00:24:47] It said,

[00:24:48] Now these are the nations which the Lord left to prove Israel by them.

[00:24:55] Even as many of Israel has not known all the world wars of Canaan.

[00:25:05] Only that the generation of the children of Israel might know to teach them war.

[00:25:10] At least.

[00:25:12] At least.

[00:25:13] Such as before knew nothing thereof.

[00:25:16] So right here he's basically saying,

[00:25:18] Hey, just like I just told you guys.

[00:25:20] The children's children.

[00:25:22] They didn't know about the war.

[00:25:23] They're fathers.

[00:25:27] Mothers.

[00:25:28] They knew about the war.

[00:25:29] They knew about the sacrifices.

[00:25:31] As God has told us.

[00:25:33] Sometimes we get that mixed up.

[00:25:35] I think.

[00:25:36] That as we have walked this earth.

[00:25:39] And tried to serve our heavenly father.

[00:25:42] And he's put shepherds and leaders in place.

[00:25:45] We began to preach blessing and prosperity.

[00:25:49] Now don't get me wrong.

[00:25:51] Blessing and prosperity is there.

[00:25:54] As long as you're holding God's hand.

[00:25:56] But we forgot.

[00:25:58] To teach our children.

[00:26:01] That God is not a genie in the bottle.

[00:26:04] No.

[00:26:05] We forgot to teach our children.

[00:26:08] That he said be anxious for nothing.

[00:26:10] But do everything in prayer.

[00:26:14] Supplication.

[00:26:15] And make our request known.

[00:26:18] Unto him.

[00:26:19] The great I am.

[00:26:21] God.

[00:26:24] Weight in expectation.

[00:26:26] Standing on that faith.

[00:26:29] Without faith it's impossible to please him.

[00:26:32] For he who comes to God.

[00:26:34] Must believe that he is.

[00:26:35] And that he is a rewarder of those.

[00:26:38] Who diligently seek him.

[00:26:41] We as the people.

[00:26:43] God promised.

[00:26:45] Abraham.

[00:26:48] The descendants of the descendants of the descendants.

[00:26:51] We are part of that.

[00:26:53] Us Gentiles.

[00:26:55] Dopted into the fold.

[00:26:57] Every blessing.

[00:26:58] Every spiritual blessing.

[00:27:00] We receive that.

[00:27:02] When we accept our heavenly father.

[00:27:04] As our Lord and Savior.

[00:27:06] Jesus Christ.

[00:27:09] Remember him telling his disciples.

[00:27:11] Back in Matthew, Mark and Luke.

[00:27:13] Hey.

[00:27:14] Ask anything in my name.

[00:27:16] And I'll ask of it to my father.

[00:27:19] Let your request be known.

[00:27:21] But you got to seal it in my name.

[00:27:23] I think we forgot to tell our children as well.

[00:27:27] Don't leave the gate open.

[00:27:31] Don't leave the gate open.

[00:27:35] Don't leave that gate open.

[00:27:39] Stop looking at this as it's just a blessing.

[00:27:44] I want the blessing.

[00:27:45] You got to work for that blessing.

[00:27:50] You got to work.

[00:27:53] Faith without works is dead.

[00:27:55] And I really hate saying work.

[00:27:57] Let me choose a better way to phrase that.

[00:28:01] You got to be obedient.

[00:28:03] You got to diligently seek him.

[00:28:06] You got to put God first.

[00:28:07] And everything that you do in your life.

[00:28:10] You got to have a relationship with God.

[00:28:14] You got to know what his statues and commandments say.

[00:28:18] And you got to do your best to try to walk that walk.

[00:28:22] Not just talk that talk.

[00:28:24] And we all fall short.

[00:28:25] But thank God.

[00:28:27] Glory be to God.

[00:28:28] He has put in some claws.

[00:28:32] He dropped some gems in there.

[00:28:34] As he walked 33 years on this earth with us.

[00:28:38] With his disciples.

[00:28:40] He said a man can fall down and get back up.

[00:28:43] Man falls down seven times and gets back up.

[00:28:47] It doesn't matter how you fall.

[00:28:50] It's how you get back up.

[00:28:53] See he put some provisions in there.

[00:28:57] But we got to get into his word to understand the provisions.

[00:29:01] Right here in chapter three.

[00:29:04] The children's children.

[00:29:06] Maybe somebody didn't tell him what the stones meant.

[00:29:11] That the leaders had to take up when he parted the Jordan.

[00:29:15] Not the Red Sea.

[00:29:16] The Jordan.

[00:29:17] How many of you know that God parted two places of water

[00:29:22] for them.

[00:29:23] The Red Sea and the Jordan.

[00:29:25] The Jordan was the crossing over into the land.

[00:29:28] Flowing with the milk and the honey.

[00:29:31] With the big fat grapes.

[00:29:32] And the figs.

[00:29:36] They didn't have to no longer look to heaven.

[00:29:41] For manna.

[00:29:42] They were actually able to eat of the fruit of the land.

[00:29:47] And take possession of it.

[00:29:49] But these children did not know war.

[00:29:51] So now we're.

[00:29:53] That's where God brings in the judges.

[00:29:55] Because guess what?

[00:29:57] The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord.

[00:30:00] And forgot the Lord their God.

[00:30:03] And they served Balaam.

[00:30:05] And the groves.

[00:30:06] So here goes God.

[00:30:08] Comes to the rescue.

[00:30:10] It said therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel.

[00:30:14] And he sold them into the hand.

[00:30:17] Of a king.

[00:30:19] Of Mesopotamian.

[00:30:21] To Mesopotamia.

[00:30:25] I can't say it guys.

[00:30:26] I'm trying.

[00:30:27] And the children served Israel.

[00:30:31] They served that king.

[00:30:33] Let me put it that way.

[00:30:34] For eight years.

[00:30:35] Some of these names are a doozy.

[00:30:37] Y'all charge it to my head and not my heart.

[00:30:41] And this is.

[00:50:46] You won't get the honor.
