[06:11.360 --> 06:19.680] Then the Israelites traveled to the plains of Moab and encamped along the Jordan across from Jericho.
[06:21.280 --> 06:31.840] Now Baylax's son, Zippur, Saul, all that Israel had done to the Amorites and to Moab
[06:32.800 --> 06:39.600] and was terrified because there were so many people.
[06:41.600 --> 06:50.000] Indeed, Moab was filled with dread because of the Israelites. The Moabites said to the Elders of
[06:50.000 --> 06:55.760] Median. This horde is going to lick up everything around us,

[07:13.280 --> 07:20.960] who was king of Moab at the time, sent messengers to summon Baylum and the son of Bora, who was

[08:16.080 --> 08:23.120] the Lord gives me so the mobile officials stayed with him. God came to Baylum and asked,
[08:24.240 --> 08:34.720] who are these men with you? Baylum said to God, Baylax son of Zippur, king of Moab, sent me this
[08:34.720 --> 08:42.560] message, a people has come out of Egypt, covers the face of the land, now come and put a curse on
[08:42.560 --> 08:49.360] them for me. Perhaps then I will be able to fight them and drive them away. But God said to Baylum,
[08:49.360 --> 08:55.520] do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people because they are blessed.
[08:57.040 --> 09:02.800] The next morning, Baylum got up and said to Baylax official, go back to your own country,
[09:02.800 --> 09:09.600] for the Lord has refused to let me go with you. So the more bite officials returned to Baylax
[09:09.600 --> 09:19.200] and said, Baylum refused to come with us. Then Baylax went, sent another set of officials, more
[09:19.200 --> 09:28.720] numerous and more distinguished than the first. They came to Baylum and said, this is what Baylax
[09:28.720 --> 09:35.040] son of Zippur says. Do not let anything keep you from coming to me because I will reward
[09:35.040 --> 09:42.160] your handsomely and do whatever you say. Come and put a curse on these people for me. But Baylum answered
[09:42.160 --> 09:52.080] them. Even if Baylax gave me all the silver and all the gold in his palace, I could not do anything
[09:52.080 --> 10:00.960] great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord, my God. Now sin, now spend the night here
[10:01.520 --> 10:08.080] so that I can find out what else the Lord tells me. That night God came to Baylum and said, since
[10:08.080 --> 10:13.680] these men have come to summon you, go with them, but only do what I tell you.

[10:23.680 --> 10:30.160] But God was very angry when he went, and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him.

[10:38.240 --> 10:45.680] angel of the Lord standing in the road with the drone sword in his hand, it turned off the road
[10:45.680 --> 10:54.000] into the field. Baylum beat his on his back to come back onto the road. Then the angel of the
[10:54.000 --> 11:00.800] Lord stood in the narrow path through the vineyard with walls on both sides. And when the donkey
[11:00.800 --> 11:05.760] saw the angel of the Lord, it pressed close to the wall. Question Baylum stood against it.
[11:06.480 --> 11:11.680] So he beat the donkey again. Then the angel of the Lord moved
[11:11.680 --> 11:16.000] on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn,
[11:16.000 --> 11:21.840] either to the right or the left. And when the donkey saw the angel of the Lord,
[11:23.840 --> 11:32.080] it laid down under Baylum and he was angry and beat it with his staff. Then the Lord opened
[11:33.040 --> 11:40.560] the donkey's mouth and it said to Baylum, what have I done to make you beat me these three times?
[11:41.920 --> 11:50.160] Baylum answered the donkey, you have made a fool of me. If only I had a sword in my hands,
[11:50.160 --> 11:57.840] I will kill you right now. The donkey said to Baylum, I am not, am I not, your own donkey,

[12:06.480 --> 12:13.360] No, he said. Then the Lord opened Baylum's eyes and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road
[12:13.360 --> 12:20.000] with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell face down. The angel of the Lord asked him, why have
[12:20.000 --> 12:27.120] you beaten your donkey three times? I've come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one
[12:27.120 --> 12:34.960] before me. The donkey saw me and turned away from these, turned away from me these three times.
[12:36.240 --> 12:44.480] If it had not turned away, I would have certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared it.
[12:46.080 --> 12:52.320] Baylum said to the angel of the Lord, I have sinned, I did not realize you were standing

[13:06.240 --> 13:12.960] back with Baylax officials. And when Baylax heard the Baylum was coming, he went out to meet him

[13:53.680 --> 14:02.000] Huzzoth, Baylax sacrificed Cattle and Sheep and gave some to Baylum and the officials who were with him.
[14:02.640 --> 14:10.960] The next Morbine, Baylax took Baylum up to Baymoth, Bayl. And from there, he could see the outskirts of
[14:10.960 --> 14:19.920] the Israel's camp. We're going to stop right there in chapter 22. On Friday, we'll head on over to
[14:19.920 --> 14:29.360] chapter 23, Baylum's first message. But let's get the Tony Evans breakdown of this. I had so much
[14:29.360 --> 14:38.080] more to say earlier today when God gave it to me. But it's just like that when you're walking with God.
[14:40.320 --> 14:44.800] And he it's the words of his daily bread across your heart or give you something to say
[14:45.360 --> 14:50.160] in that moment. Sometimes that's for that moment. Sometimes
[14:51.040 --> 14:59.840] it's just that you can remember it. I can remember it about why do a replay.
[15:01.440 --> 15:10.800] My aunt brought to my memory a scripture yesterday, proverbs and proverbs. And it talked about
[15:12.320 --> 15:19.840] being reminded. Let me see if I can find it and flip through my let me see if I can flip through
[15:20.640 --> 15:26.880] my nifty my nifty Bible and find it for you because you know your girl been having a little bit of
[15:26.880 --> 15:31.520] brain for us here. I don't know if it's because she's getting a little bit more seasoned. But
[15:32.400 --> 15:38.800] that's what we were talking about yesterday, the memory. And she took me over to Proverbs chapter
[15:38.800 --> 15:47.360] 10 verse seven, the memory of the righteous is blessed. But the name of the wicked will rot.
[15:47.440 --> 15:56.160] But I held on to that yesterday. The memory of the righteous is blessed because I could be in mid
[15:56.160 --> 16:04.240] sentence and my mind just goes somewhere else. And as my season I would say, just touch your mind
[16:05.520 --> 16:13.360] and say the memory of the righteous is blessed. And when all else fails, just say Jesus, Jesus,
[16:14.080 --> 16:16.480] and maybe you remember a thing or maybe you want.

[16:37.760 --> 16:45.280] But let's go on over to our Tony Evans commentary and see what they're talking about on today.
[16:45.280 --> 16:52.480] So chapter 22, finally the Israelites arrive near the Jordan River across from the city of Jericho.
[16:52.480 --> 16:59.600] This is where the book of Deuteronomy opens. So we haven't quite got there yet.
[17:00.480 --> 17:10.400] And we haven't gotten quite there yet, but we're on our way, guys. We're on our way.
[17:11.200 --> 17:16.960] You have to work with me guys. I'm doing a lot over here. So,
[17:19.040 --> 17:24.080] but the next several chapters of the book of Numbers, Tony Evans says, follows the actions of
[17:24.080 --> 17:32.720] two men named Beylak and Beylam. Rather, they're covering the more famous events that were to come.
[17:33.600 --> 17:42.000] Beylak, Son of Zippur was more about more, more, more of King. He had seen what happened to the
[17:42.000 --> 17:47.200] emirites and his people and were terrified of the Israelites. Therefore, the King decided to hire
[17:47.200 --> 17:52.160] Beylam, Son of Boor to come and curse the people of Israel so that Mo could defeat them.
[17:54.880 --> 18:03.680] Beylam was especially a prophet for hire in that area where the false God Beylam was worshiped.
[18:04.640 --> 18:09.680] So Beylak sent messengers to Beylam with a request. Please come and put a curse on these people.
[18:09.680 --> 18:15.120] I know that those you bless are blessed and those you curse are cursed.
[18:15.120 --> 18:21.200] But apparently, the commentary tells me that Beylam had a reputation for getting results
[18:22.160 --> 18:34.080] through the words he spoke. But the Lord's reputation is flawless. If he says something will happen,
[18:34.080 --> 18:40.560] it will happen. It also tells me that this is important to understand what happened next because
[18:40.560 --> 18:47.520] God had promised Abraham many years before that he would make him into a great nation.
[18:49.120 --> 18:55.920] He would bless those who he blessed and curse anyone who treats Abraham with contempt.
[18:57.600 --> 19:06.000] These promises would extend to the Israelites. Abraham's blood descendants and so forth.
[19:06.880 --> 19:13.200] Beylak's plan then was a failure from the start. My commentary tells me.
[19:14.400 --> 19:22.160] And if God is determined to bless you, no one's word is contrary to be able to overrule them.
[19:23.760 --> 19:29.280] He goes on to say that Beylak sent elders to Moab as we know and to meet him with a fee.
[19:29.680 --> 19:37.520] And he says, interesting enough that Beylak practiced God's forbidden forms of sorcery.
[19:39.120 --> 19:43.760] He refused to go with these men until he received an answer from the Lord about it.
[19:44.320 --> 19:51.680] This implies that he intended to do whatever God told him to do, no matter how good the money was,
[19:51.680 --> 19:55.680] which is exactly what he did each point in the story.
[19:56.480 --> 20:07.120] So that night, God graciously appeared to this sorcerer who generally was not committed to living
[20:08.480 --> 20:14.720] in a manner pleasing to him and asked, who are these men with you?
[20:15.280 --> 20:20.960] And Beylah replied, what he had asked to do, what he had been asked to do to Israel.
[20:21.040 --> 20:24.320] And God warned him not to curse his people whom he had blessed.
[20:24.320 --> 20:28.320] No, Beylah obeyed. My commentary tells me.
[20:28.320 --> 20:35.840] He sent his guests away empty-handed, but Beylak would not take no one for an answer as we read.
[20:38.960 --> 20:47.680] But he again consults God when Beylak sent again more officials.
[20:47.920 --> 20:52.480] And he was hesitant to go with them.
[20:53.360 --> 20:55.280] And again, he consulted with God.
[20:57.600 --> 21:02.160] So from there, my commentary goes on to tell me.
[21:03.520 --> 21:07.520] It was while Beylah was on his way to meet Beylak that the prophet
[21:08.960 --> 21:15.120] and the donkey encountered God, who was so insistent.
[21:18.640 --> 21:20.080] That he was going to mope.
[21:22.480 --> 21:24.800] And the angel was sent to oppose him.
[21:26.720 --> 21:33.680] My commentary tells me, we get in sight into what motivates the surprising reaction.
[21:34.800 --> 21:37.920] It says, Beylah loved the wages of the wickedness.
[21:38.880 --> 21:43.360] So it seems that even though Beylah claimed to follow the Lord's instruction,
[21:43.360 --> 21:52.080] and even did so when it suited him, he really was a mercenary prophet at heart.
[21:52.800 --> 21:58.400] Though God had given Beylah permission to go to the Elders' remote, God knew that he would
[22:00.000 --> 22:07.920] he that he cared nothing for Israel and that out of greedy motivations the man was prepared to
[22:07.920 --> 22:14.800] curse the Israel for the reward despite the instructions of God.
[22:16.960 --> 22:24.720] It goes on to tell me that Beylah's donkey saw the angel standing in the path with a drawn sword
[22:25.920 --> 22:28.720] and was rightly scared off the road.
[22:29.520 --> 22:37.600] A Beylah eager to get to his payday hit her to return her to the path.
[22:38.560 --> 22:46.880] And after this situation repeated itself twice, God and unexpectedly and supernaturally opened up
[22:46.880 --> 22:54.400] the donkey's mouth and she asked, what have I done to you that you have beaten me these three times?
[22:54.880 --> 23:05.680] Don't miss that what follows is a conversation between a faithful donkey and an unfaithful prophet.
[23:07.200 --> 23:15.280] Isn't that something? Isn't that something? The second time around that we hear about this

[23:37.360 --> 23:43.680] It goes on to tell me, family God opens Beylah's eyes to see the angel of the Lord, who was
[23:44.640 --> 23:49.600] blocking his path as Beylah laid face down to worship the Lord,
[23:50.240 --> 23:56.480] explained to the prophet that his dumb donkey has saved his life.
[23:58.800 --> 24:04.000] Beylah started to turn around and go home, but God had determined him.
[24:06.320 --> 24:12.160] God was determined to display his glory to the more bites in the media nights
[24:12.880 --> 24:19.440] and to bless his people through Beylah. So he told him to go with him, the man,
[24:20.400 --> 24:24.160] but only to say what God tells him to say.

[24:31.280 --> 24:39.280] as we go on to chapter 23, we're going to find out about the first
[24:42.960 --> 24:52.960] conversation that God has for Beylah, Beylah from Beylah.
[24:55.280 --> 25:01.200] But in this funny, God is an awesome God, guys. Let me tell you, he is an awesome God.

[25:34.160 --> 25:39.440] I said, you know, even though it was love, I'm going to go back and redo it.
[25:40.480 --> 25:48.320] But look how in this moment God has showed his self-mighty on my behalf, because I listen,
[25:50.080 --> 25:56.160] I listen to the voice inside of me to say, so what? You already did it.
[25:57.120 --> 26:03.200] If you can't understand it, how can God's children understand it?
[26:04.640 --> 26:10.560] So in doing that, I picked up some more gems that I probably would have wrote down tonight
[26:10.560 --> 26:18.160] from my commentary about how the faithful donkey was more faithful than the greedy prophet,
[26:18.960 --> 26:29.280] how God was determined to use Balaam so that he can show his self-mighty on the behalf of his people,
[26:29.280 --> 26:32.320] his children, much as he does for us today.
[26:34.720 --> 26:39.360] He knew the prophet was greedy, much as some people we deal with today.
[26:39.360 --> 26:44.960] I was just having that conversation with hubby this morning as we were getting him off the work.
[26:45.840 --> 26:51.520] And it came up on the screen and I talked about this in the past and I'm sure this is something
[26:51.520 --> 26:57.920] that most people have heard somewhere down the lawn. You know, there's a lot of scamming going on when
[26:57.920 --> 27:05.760] it comes to housing, renting apartments, renting houses, and it was saying that it was an increasingly
[27:05.840 --> 27:17.360] becoming a six digit scam operation. The scammers have gotten to the point where they're not only
[27:19.360 --> 27:27.520] putting false information out there on any of the platforms. They're also showing up in person
[27:27.520 --> 27:34.800] and pretending to be these landlords getting keys made from different companies that,
[27:34.800 --> 27:40.560] you know, have the little lock boxes on the door and you put the coding in to go in and check
[27:40.560 --> 27:46.240] out the property and they may live, they may be in another state in Rittenen in another state and
[27:46.240 --> 27:54.400] so forth and so forth. But they talked about how it was becoming a six-figured scam. People getting
[27:54.400 --> 28:03.360] scammed out of their money and this passage right here, you know, with the profit being a
[28:03.360 --> 28:13.360] greedy person, not only that incident, what rentals right now, but basically with a lot of things that
[28:13.360 --> 28:22.240] goes on in our lives. If you're not careful, you can be scammed out of your last dime,
[28:23.200 --> 28:33.200] identity stolen. So even though we're reading out of the Old Testament, that's why I always say
[28:33.200 --> 28:41.120] get in your word, read it from front to back because you can learn something out of it that applies
[28:41.120 --> 28:48.560] today. Nothing's changed. The people has changed as we see as the Israelites started to start to go
[28:48.560 --> 28:54.240] on over into the land of milk and honey. Generations have died off if God hadn't destroyed them or
[28:54.240 --> 28:58.320] killed them for being disobedient. They've defeated people in war.

[32:36.160 --> 32:46.000] able to pray for that individual instead of continuing heaping colds on their head like the rest of the
[32:46.000 --> 32:53.200] world. Because my heavenly Father tells us we are particular people, those who diligently seek him.
[32:53.200 --> 33:02.000] We are his sons and his daughters and not just us that diligently seek him. We all are everybody in the
[33:02.080 --> 33:10.240] world is his sons and his daughters. He loves us to the bottom of our sins, to the bottom from
[33:10.240 --> 33:17.040] my crowns of my head, to the bottom of my feet. That's what my word tells me. It's the sin that he
[33:17.040 --> 33:23.200] does not like. And it starts in the eye, the eargate, sometimes it gets up around our heart.

[33:29.600 --> 33:35.360] they get up around your heart stream. For my season, people, we know what that means.
