[00:02:44] Etch across the hearts and the minds of your people, your daily bread in the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen everybody.

[00:02:54] Amen.

[00:02:56] So guys, let's get to it this morning to read in honor women's international month.

[00:03:07] We're going to read what I read over this week and

[00:03:13] and it had me meditate on just life

[00:03:22] and how we as women sometimes go through things

[00:03:33] and it's okay to remember that we're resilient.

[00:03:41] We have courage to make it through whatever it is we're going through and whatever struggles.

[00:03:47] So I read a chorus, Leah,

[00:03:51] and it doesn't exactly talk about Leah in the biblical form,

[00:03:58] but this is what it says.

[00:04:00] Leah's story is one that many women can relate to.

[00:04:04] It is the story of women longing to be loved, looking for validation, yearning to be affirmed.

[00:04:11] Women who recognize they're on a dead in road who therefore desire to know what to do next and how to find a new way

[00:04:20] and can learn from Leah's experiences.

[00:04:24] Leah girl came to my church last Sunday with her six children.

[00:04:30] She was tall and lanky and had pretty eyes,

[00:04:33] but no other features distinguished her for most assistance.

[00:04:39] A member invited Leah girl because Leah girl had been drawn by her testimony.

[00:04:46] While all her post as a security guard,

[00:04:49] Leah girl overheard the laminate of another young woman.

[00:04:54] This young woman had been dist by her man again.

[00:05:00] The relationship was a series of broken promises.

[00:05:05] Leah girl walked up and said,

[00:05:07] excuse me, it sounds like you were just where I left.

[00:05:13] Leah girl had just found the courage to break free from the married man with whom she'd been involved.

[00:05:23] I bet the first five children,

[00:05:26] the first five of her children are named this time he'll love me.

[00:05:33] I get the feeling however that the youngest is named and now I will praise the Lord.

[00:05:39] Leah girl came to my church last Sunday.

[00:05:43] She was hungry thirsty and looking for a relationship with the Lord.

[00:05:47] She had come to terms with the fact that validation, affirmation and confirmation are gifts from the Lord

[00:05:56] and not empty promises from immoral brothers.

[00:06:00] Leah girl lifted her face to praise God.

[00:06:04] Leah girl represents thousands of women looking for love in all the wrong places.

[00:06:09] The biblical Leah spent many years competing for a Jacob's love,

[00:06:15] but one day she decided to look to the Lord and stand.

[00:06:19] For many years, Leah struggled to feel fulfilled through her relationship with her husband.

[00:06:26] During some of those years, she found the strength to rely upon the Lord.

[00:06:32] At other times, she fell victim to the trap of looking for validation through another.

[00:06:39] If your name is Leah girl,

[00:06:41] take the first step today to develop a relationship with Christ,

[00:06:46] let the Lord create you that which will bring eternal satisfaction by e-waters.

[00:06:56] Have you had the courage to lead unhealthy patterns in the past?

[00:07:02] What got you through?

[00:07:04] Use your past successes to help break other unhealthy patterns or share your testimony with someone who needs to hear it.

[00:07:14] Read Genesis 29-16 through 31, 31-35.

[00:07:23] Chapter 30-9-21.

[00:07:26] Genesis 35-23.

[00:07:29] In Ruth chapter 4-11.

[00:07:34] So that was an honor of women's international month.

[00:07:41] The women of the Bible for women of color.

[00:07:44] It's not a book about a biblical person in the Bible that is colored.

[00:07:51] It's just examples of the courageous women that are in the Bible that we can possibly meditate on and learn something from.

[00:08:03] So this morning, we're going to do a recap of what we read on Friday.

[00:08:11] I hope you guys enjoyed our special guests.

[00:08:16] Karen, Karen, and Freason.

[00:08:18] Thank you, Karen, for coming to the show.

[00:08:21] And then, lighten us about the CK2, the Aerospace Program.

[00:08:26] If you guys haven't got an opportunity to take a look at that video or audio yet,

[00:08:34] head on over to my YouTube page or perhaps my Facebook page, 12 Streets Outpack.

[00:08:41] I'll go ahead and check out the entire video and what Karen teaches us on Friday.

[00:08:47] And if you are an audio person, head on over to Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Anchor, Eye Heart Radio,

[00:08:56] I don't know why I said Anchor.

[00:08:59] And check it out.

[00:09:01] Any of your list and platforms.

[00:09:03] Good Pods.

[00:09:04] We're going to do a recap this morning.

[00:09:06] We're going to read from our commentary and see what our commentary has to say about chapter seven.

[00:09:15] And it goes a little like this.

[00:09:17] Chapter seven shows Israel moved from the thrills of victory to the agony of defeat.

[00:09:23] Joshua had commanded the Israelites keeping yourselves from the things set apart.

[00:09:29] And you will be set apart for destruction.

[00:09:32] He was warning the people not to take articles in the city, whether they be of silver, gold, bronze, or iron.

[00:09:40] Because such things were to be dedicated for the treasures of the Lord's house.

[00:09:46] In other words, if anyone mess with restricted items, God would mess with him.

[00:09:51] Unfortunately, one of the Israelites thought he could ignore the warning.

[00:09:55] He tried to get away with stealing from God.

[00:09:59] The first verse reveals the guilty party's identity.

[00:10:03] Then the remainder of the chapter describes the consequences of his sins.

[00:10:09] After the battle in Jericho, A. King and Sama Kamari took some of what was set apart.

[00:10:15] Therefore, the Lord's anger burned against the Israelites.

[00:10:19] But if A. King was the long thief, why was God angry with the whole nation?

[00:10:27] Why does the passage say that Israelites were unfaithful?

[00:10:33] This is a reminder of the corporate nature of the people of God.

[00:10:39] The Israelites were like a football team in one sense, thus if one player commits an infraction

[00:10:47] of the rules the entire team was penalized.

[00:10:52] Importantly, God still expects His people to function as a team.

[00:10:59] Paul says the church is the body.

[00:11:02] If one member suffers, all members suffers with in it.

[00:11:07] If one member is honored, all members rejoice.

[00:11:11] This, in fact, is why the author of Hebrews urges us to encourage each other daily.

[00:11:19] So that none of us are hardened by sins, deceptions.

[00:11:28] Unaware of what A. King had done, Joshua and the Israelites prepared for their next battle given.

[00:11:35] How successful things had gone against Jericho.

[00:11:38] The man who scouted A.I reported that the enemy force were few in number.

[00:11:46] They thus devised, don't wear out all of your people there.

[00:11:50] In other words, they confidently said we've got this under control just as just said a few troops and the job will be done.

[00:12:00] Yet Israel was soundly defeated in 36 Israelites men were killed.

[00:12:08] After this Joshua tore his clothes and fell face down to the ground and put dust on his head as signs of mourning.

[00:12:15] Then he cried out to the Lord and confuses, why had God failed to give them victory?

[00:12:22] God told Joshua to stand up and made it clear that the failure happened because the people had violated the covenant that he appointed for them.

[00:12:33] Earlier at Mount Sinai, the Lord had made a covenant with Israel, a devinely orchestrated agreement.

[00:12:42] Under it he would be their father and deliver them provided that they obey his instructions by taking some time,

[00:12:53] by taking some of what was set apart.

[00:12:56] They had stolen from God and deceived him.

[00:12:59] Joshua would have to deal with that sin in order for God to reverse their circumstances and fight for them again.

[00:13:08] Joshua announced that the people were to consecrate themselves, that is dedicate themselves to God and present themselves dry by dry.

[00:13:20] God then began the process of identifying the guilty party by trial, then by clan, then by family, then by man.

[00:13:31] The thief he revealed was then to be executed for his sin against God.

[00:13:39] While revealed the guilty party through such a lengthy process, first it demonstrates to everyone the seriousness of the sins which had affected the entire nation.

[00:13:53] Second it allows the people to see that God really did know each of them and their deeds intimately.

[00:14:02] And third it gave Akin the opportunity to come clean as he watched the events unfold.

[00:14:09] Joshua began the process of elimination, God selected the tribe of Judah and worked his way to smaller groups and to Akin was identified as the culprit.

[00:14:23] At that point Akin finally confessed that he had covered some of the restricted items took them and concealed them in his tent.

[00:14:31] Once the items were recovered, Joshua pronounced synods on Akin and his children who were apparently co-conspirators in this sin and had them put to death in accordance with the Lord's commandment.

[00:14:49] Joshua made another power of memorial stones to remind the people of the seriousness of revealing against the Lord.

[00:14:58] Some may consider this judgment too severe but we must be careful not to solve paddle Akin sins.

[00:15:06] He willfully violated God's covenant with Israel, disoplayed baited clear prohibitation, stole what belonged to the Lord brought a curse on the nation.

[00:15:18] And was responsible for the death of 36 innocent men.

[00:15:25] And he invited all those consequences simply so that he could enrich himself with a few trinklets.

[00:15:35] The lesson here is this, be careful not to take your own sin lightly. Though God does not call down fire and brimstone today.

[00:15:45] He still shows his wrath against sin by letting people experience the consequences of their sinful choices.

[00:15:56] Once the sin had been dealt with God commanded Joshua to attack AI because he had handed over the king of AI as people of the city and the land, as with Jericho.

[00:16:11] God had given a promise to the spiritual ram that Israel would need to actually actualize in the earth realm.

[00:16:22] I have a notice that this time they were to employ a different strategy. God instructed them to march around the city and blow, blow Rams horns.

[00:16:37] They were to use military taxate tactics. Israel was to set an ambush.

[00:16:44] This is a reminder that we must not presume to know God's plan for a situation. His strategies are diverse.

[00:16:53] So God's people need to stay close to him in order to make sure we do as he wants. God's way are not our ways.

[00:17:05] So God's, that's a recap of how the commentary speaks of chapter 7 that we read on Friday.

[00:17:19] And that's a reminder for us all I mean.

[00:17:24] As I was reading that I was kind of taking a back and was able to meditate on some of the things that I'm going through at this particular moment.

[00:17:33] And then we all do it. We all go through things in life, no matter how big, no matter how small and we take matters in our own hands, but we're not supposed to do that as particular people of God.

[00:17:50] I know for myself, I have said and I can only speak for myself this faith wall. This walk with Christ.

[00:17:59] It's not a difficult hard walk. Sometimes it can be a lonely walk. Sometimes you can be confused a little bit.

[00:18:10] Sometimes God don't give you insight on a particular situation, but he gives us the tools to use.

[00:18:21] And when all else is said and done, we're supposed to stand and we as people will put our hands in it.

[00:18:32] I know I certainly have and still do sometimes trying to make it work out the way my brain works it out.

[00:18:41] But am I not supposed to be leaning and trusting on what God's will is for my life?

[00:18:50] And sometimes we forget that in the process of going through whatever it is, we're going through.

[00:18:59] But God has a gentle way of tapping you on the shoulder reminding you that it's not your way. It's his way and what of his will be for your life.

[00:19:12] I'm also reminded that I absorb so much scripture. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and just meditate it on it at small sections at a time and not to consume so much in trying to apply so much to my life.

[00:19:34] Trying to do this thing perfect in my head. There's no such thing as a perfect human being.

[00:19:43] There's no such thing as a perfect Christian.

[00:19:47] You walk the wall, minute by minute, second by second hour by hour and pray that your Heavenly Father gives you insight to what He wants you to see.

[00:19:59] And if he does it, you just stand.

[00:20:04] So let's get into chapter eight and we can discuss chapter eight on Wednesday.

[00:20:11] Now the Lord said to Joshua, do not be afraid nor be dismayed. Take all the people of war with you and arise and go to AI.

[00:20:19] See I've given it to your hands, the king of AI. The people his sitting in his land and you shall do to AI in its king as you did to Jericho in its king.

[00:20:31] Only it spoils and its cattle. You shall take as booty for yourselves land ambush for the city behind it.

[00:20:42] So Joshua rose and all the people of war to go up against AI. And Joshua chose 30,000 men of valor and sent them away by night.

[00:20:54] And he commanded them saying behold you shall lie in ambush against the city behind the city. Do not go very far from the city but all will you be ready.

[00:21:06] Then I and all the people who are with me will approach the city and it will come about when they come out against us as at the first that we shall flee before them.

[00:21:19] But they will come out after us till they have drawn them from the city where they will say they are fleeing before us as at the first.

[00:21:32] Therefore we will flee before them. Then you shall arise from the ambush and seize the city for the Lord your God will deliver it until your hands.

[00:21:44] And it will be when you have taken the city that you so set the city on fire according to the commandment of the Lord, you shall do.

[00:21:54] See I have commanded you Joshua therefore sent them out and they went to lie in ambush and stayed between Bethac and AI on the west side of AI.

[00:22:07] But Joshua lodged that night among the people then Joshua rose up early in the morning and mustered the people and went up he and the elders of Israel before the people of AI.

[00:22:21] And all the people war who were with him went up and drew near they came before the city and camped on the north side of AI.

[00:22:30] Now a valley laid between them and AI so he took about 5000 men and set them an ambush between Bethel and AI on the west side of the city.

[00:22:43] And when they had set the people all the army that was on the north of the city and its real guard was on the west of the city Joshua went that night into the mist of the valley.

[00:22:55] And when they had set the people all the army that was on the north side of the city and its real guard on the west side of the city, Joshua went that night into the mist of the valley.

[00:23:09] I thought I had read that already guys.

[00:23:13] Now it happened when the king of AI saw that the many of the men of the city hurried and rose early and went out against Israel to battle.

[00:23:23] He and all the people ended up in a place before the plane, but he did not know that there was an ambush against him behind the city.

[00:23:33] And Joshua and all the Israel made as if they were beaten before them and fled by the way of the wilderness.

[00:23:41] So all the people who were in AI were called together to pursue them and they pursued Joshua and were drawn away from the city.

[00:23:50] There was not a man left an AI or Bethel who did not go out after Israel.

[00:23:59] So they left the city open and pursued Israel.

[00:24:02] Then the Lord said to Joshua, stretch out the spear that is in your hand towards AI or I will give it into your hand.

[00:24:12] And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand and towards the city.

[00:24:18] So those in ambush arose quickly out of their place.

[00:24:22] They ran as soon as he stretched out his hand and they entered the city and took it and Harry to set the city on fire.

[00:24:32] And when the men of AI looked behind them, they saw and behold the smoke of the city ascended to heaven.

[00:24:41] So they had no power to flee this way or that way and the people who had fled to the wilderness turned back on the pursuers.

[00:24:50] Now, when Joshua and all of Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city and that the smoke of the city ascended, they turned back and struck down them, the men of AI.

[00:25:04] Then the other came out of the city against them.

[00:25:08] So they were caught in the midst of Israel, swam on this side and swam on that side and they struck them down so that they let none of them remain or escaped.

[00:25:20] But the king of AI, they took alive and brought him to Joshua.

[00:25:25] And it came to pass when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of AI in the field and the wilderness where they pursued them.

[00:25:36] And when they had all had fallen by the edge of the sword until they were consumed, that all of the Israelites returned to AI and struck it with the edge of the soul.

[00:25:49] So it was that all who fell that day, both men and women were 12,000, all the people of AI.

[00:25:59] For Joshua did not draw back his hand with which he stretched out the sphere until he had earnestly destroyed all the inhabitants of AI.

[00:26:10] Only the livestock and the spuel of the city Israel took as booty for themselves according to the word of the Lord which he had commanded Joshua.

[00:26:21] So Joshua burned AI and made it a heap forever, a decilent to this day.

[00:26:29] And the king of AI he hanged on a tree until evening.

[00:26:33] And as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his corpse down from the tree, cast it at the interest of the gate of the city and raise over it a great heap of stone that remains to this day.

[00:26:52] Then Joshua built an altar to the Lord of the Lord God of Israel and Mount Elbal as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the children of Israel as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, a altar of whole stones over which no man has wielded of iron tool.

[00:27:17] And they offered it on a burnt offering and they offered on it burnt offerings to the Lord and sacred peace offerings.

[00:27:28] And there in the presence of the children of Israel, he wrote on the stone a copy of the law of Moses which he had written.

[00:27:40] Then on the Israel with their elders and officers and judges stood on either side of the ark before the priests, the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

[00:27:54] The strangers as well as he who had he who was born among them, half of them were from in front of Mount Gershm and the other half in front of Mount Elbal.

[00:28:09] As Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded before that they should bless the people of Israel.

[00:28:17] And afterwards he read all the words of the law, the blessings and the curses according to all that was written in the book of the law.

[00:28:26] There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all thus simply of Israel.

[00:28:37] With the women, the little ones and the strangers who were living among them.

[00:28:43] So guys that was chapter 8 Joshua chapter 8 verse 1, the verse 35.

[00:28:52] Meditate on that this day the story of how they defeated AI in the king and how they honor the book of law that Moses had commanded that Joshua will read to the people, the sacred blessings, the offerings, the offering of peace.

[00:29:20] The stones which no man had wielded of iron tools but everything crafted just the way God had told Moses to write it.

[00:29:33] Joshua here read it to the people just as Moses had told him that it was of God to do.

[00:29:43] And just as we're doing this morning, you know sometimes obedience is better than sacrifice.

[00:29:51] And I'm reminded of that on a daily basis.

[00:29:56] Obedience is better than sacrifice.

[00:30:00] Sometimes we get it right.

[00:30:02] Sometimes we get it wrong.

[00:30:06] The grace and the mercy in all of that is God is always there.

[00:30:17] He's always with you.

[00:30:20] All you got to do is invite a man asking to give you the courage, the courage of David, the courage of Joshua, the obedience of Joshua, the obedience.

[00:30:35] Of Abraham.

[00:30:38] My Bible tells me that Abraham was counted righteous.

[00:30:46] He was counted righteous, obedience in his faith.

[00:30:55] And sometimes we need to ask God to give us the wisdom of Solomon for those of you.

[00:31:04] Bible scholars that already have read about Solomon, King Solomon.

[00:31:11] I have this thing that I like to ask God sometimes God.

[00:31:15] Give me the courage of David.

[00:31:19] Give me the wisdom of Solomon.

[00:31:22] Give me the speech of Aaron.

[00:31:25] Give me the friendship that you have with Moses.

[00:31:29] Give me the wisdom that you bestowed upon Elijah and Elijah.

[00:31:37] Most of all, give me the faithfulness of Abraham, the obedience.

[00:31:45] And all of this is a learning lesson.

[00:31:49] Everything that we read, we can learn something out of it if we meditate on it a little bit.

[00:31:55] Night and day.

[00:31:57] Carried around in our heart.

[00:32:00] All of this is the key to life.

[00:32:48] Turn into a multitude of wisdom.

[00:32:53] And that is something that we can't buy.

[00:32:56] Be blessed in everything that you do today.

[00:32:59] Peace and blessings to you all.

[00:33:01] And if it be in God's will, we'll see you back here on Wednesday.
