[00:01:10] feeling blessed on this beautiful Friday. Good Friday as it is we are celebrating today.

[00:01:18] Thank you, thank you, thank you one and all for joining the show this morning guys. I want

[00:01:25] you to stand right where you're standing, where you're sitting, right where you're

[00:01:30] laying. Give guys some praise this morning. Let them know that you love them. Let them

[00:01:36] know that this day you appreciate his grace, his mercy, everything that he's done for

[00:01:44] you. Heavenly Father, we just come humbly but boldly to the throne this day. Cast an all

[00:01:53] our cares upon you today. Heavenly Father, we thank you because we know that you're able

[00:02:01] to do all things like the breath that you breathe into our bodies on this day for your grace

[00:02:08] and your mercy because we know that it is new every single day of our lives. Heavenly Father,

[00:02:17] as we go about our day-to-day Father God, let our hearts and our minds stay steadfast

[00:02:23] on your word, Father God. Heavenly Father, we thank you this day for preparing the table

[00:02:30] for us in the presence of our enemies and anointing our heads with oil. Heavenly Father,

[00:02:37] as we go out in the day, Father God, let our light shine ever so brightly, Father God,

[00:02:45] so men can see your good works that you planted inside of us, Father God, so that you

[00:02:52] can get the glory. Heavenly Father, we just bless your name this morning and we thank you

[00:02:59] for all that you've done, all that you've winded. We know that you stand in the gap and

[00:03:07] in a seed on our behalf and we thank you this morning for all the things that you've done.

[00:03:15] Heavenly Father, you said in your word, you wish above all things that we prosper

[00:03:21] and being good health as our soul prosper. And we just thank you, Father God, for all that

[00:03:29] you're doing on this day and forevermore. Amen and amen guys. I hope everybody's feeling

[00:03:41] blessed on this beautiful, beautiful day that God has decided to wake us up in. Your

[00:03:50] girl been feeling pretty blessed this Friday more than getting in my word, getting in my jams.

[00:03:58] You know, you always got to have some music to move to. You always got to have that rhythm going.

[00:04:09] And sometimes when we don't know exactly what to say to our Heavenly Father, music can do the

[00:04:18] trick every time. Just put on your jam. Good morning, good morning, put on your jam. Whatever it

[00:04:26] is for the day your girl likes praise and worship music and then it slowly transients into my

[00:04:36] get up and go groove music. So I just want to thank everybody and I want to wish everybody a happy,

[00:04:43] happy holiday. Easter Sunday is coming and we know that every day as a celebration when we have

[00:04:54] God in our life and you know, celebrate in not one time a year, but celebrate in all the time.

[00:05:04] Giving God praise all the time, letting him know that you love them each and every single day.

[00:05:13] He places something in our heart, no matter what we go through, no matter what the trials,

[00:05:19] the tribulations, no matter what the circumstances look like. He will always place something someone

[00:05:29] in front of us just like he did, Bailem with the donkey. And I'm reminded of that as I go through

[00:05:38] my day to day journey, seeking what God wants me to do. God, what can I do for you today? How can I let

[00:05:47] my light shine? He wants us to let our light shine for his glory so he can get the glory, tell somebody

[00:05:58] to tell somebody the good news, the good news of how he came. He did. He healed the sick.

[00:06:11] He raised the dead. He died on that cross for me and for you. He raised up on the third day

[00:06:20] with all power in his hand. And I am excited about that on this good Friday.

[00:06:30] So guys, we're going to jump into the reading of Rebecca simply because Rebecca

[00:06:39] was a major key to how a lot of things transpired in the Old Testament. We got Jacob and Esau,

[00:06:52] Isaac, trailblazers to where we are today. People got used circumstances, different situations,

[00:07:02] Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, Solomon, Samuel, Elijah, Elijah. We got so many people. Isaiah,

[00:07:19] Leah, Rachel, all these people play key important parts to where we are today. So wherever you're at,

[00:07:28] I hope you're giving God some praise. I hope you go on through your day, just saying thank you,

[00:07:34] Lord. Thank you for the things that you've done for me. And if you're having a bad day because we all have

[00:07:42] them, everything doesn't go exactly the way we would like for it to go on a daily basis,

[00:07:50] just reach back in your memory and find something that you can meditate on that was a happy memory,

[00:07:59] something that God delivered you from, something that God gave you that you may not even necessarily

[00:08:05] deserved. What about his breath, breathing his breath in your body this morning? Somebody didn't wake

[00:08:14] up this morning. Somebody as we speak is fighting for their life. Somebody has lost a love one,

[00:08:23] perhaps a child or a parent, grandparent. Be grateful and thankful that God has you here right now in

[00:08:33] this minute that he is still on the throne, sitting on the right side. He's seated on the right side

[00:08:42] of his father and intercedes. He makes intersections on our behalf. Aren't you glad about it today?

[00:08:52] So Rebecca in honor of women's international history month, Rebecca a woman obsessed of love.

[00:09:03] Rebecca was unable to have children for nearly 20 years after marrying Isaac. But Isaac prayed

[00:09:11] for his wife and family, Rebecca conceived twin boys Jacob in Esau. You can read about Rebecca in

[00:09:20] Genesis 25, chapter 25, 19 through 26. Although Esau was the eldest and entitled to his father's

[00:09:30] inheritance and blessings, Rebecca favored her younger son Jacob and desired that he take

[00:09:40] the place of Esau as the inheritor. And with the opportunity arose, Rebecca helped Jacob deceive

[00:09:48] his father Isaac who had become old, feeble and blonde.

[00:09:55] Bestowed upon Jacob the family blessing and inheritance that was intended for Esau.

[00:10:07] Rebecca later protected Jacob from Esau's wrath by sending him away with her brother Laban

[00:10:15] in Hyron. Hey, Ram. Unfortunately, Rebecca and Jacob were never reunited and upon her death,

[00:10:24] Rebecca was buried in the family burial ground. It is instinctive and proper for a woman, a wife,

[00:10:33] a mother to love passionately. But Rebecca's love for Jacob became a selfish jealous love that led

[00:10:41] to favoritism of one child over another. Her love for Jacob also led her to compromise her love

[00:10:48] for and loyalty to her husband. She was determined to do what she thought would help Jacob at the

[00:10:55] expense of both Esau and Isaac. Unlike Rebecca's case, sometimes we hear that crimes of passion have

[00:11:06] unfortunately led to deaths of innocent people. As mothers and spouses, we must take care that

[00:11:13] I love for our children and our spouses does not become an obsessive love. A love that will allow us

[00:11:21] to succumb to temptation of Satan, to betray moral ethics, covenant relationships, and spiritual

[00:11:30] commitments. As women of God, our love should always be pure and subject to the spirit of God.

[00:11:38] God's love for us serves as the ultimate true example of peer love. I love that is unconditional,

[00:11:47] shows nobody has no favoritism and it's not jealous or boastful. Unselfish motives or desires

[00:11:55] to find pure love. It is always protective, always trust, always hope, always pressive ears

[00:12:03] and above all never fails. Evaluate the love you have for your family members. How can you make sure

[00:12:13] your love is pure and subject to God's spirit? This was written by T. Dixon out of the book that we've

[00:12:23] been reading our month. Urban spirits, women of the Bible for women of color and I looked it up,

[00:12:31] guys you can find this on Amazon. I actually got mine out of the Walmart some time ago.

[00:12:42] So let's get into the reading of the word this morning.

[00:12:48] Well, I got my commentary and I want to go over what we were talking about in the reading.

[00:13:05] I'm in God and I kind of just wanted to kneel around this morning and see where it led me.

[00:13:22] So give me just one second guys.

[00:13:24] I want to go over to chapter five in the commentary. Now, I want to read what the commentary says.

[00:13:39] The commentary says chapter five is a healing. It's more signs and opposition

[00:13:47] and it goes to tell goes on to tell us that Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a Jewish festival

[00:13:54] near the pool, Copatasta. There were many blind lame and paralyzed people waiting for

[00:14:00] supernatural healing. Jesus saw a man there who had been disabled for 38 years and asked him

[00:14:10] an interesting question. Do you want to get well? It suggests that some people have been stuck

[00:14:17] in their negative circumstances for so long that they have given up hope that all things

[00:14:25] can never change. God's work occurs in cooperation with our will.

[00:14:33] In response, the man told Jesus that every time there was a healing opportunity,

[00:14:40] he never had anyone to help him into the pool. The healing was so near and yet so far away,

[00:14:51] the man's situation was hopeless and he had no one to offer him aid.

[00:14:57] My commentary also goes on to say that Jesus told the man, get up, pick up your mat and walk.

[00:15:06] Take up your bed. That's where your home is. Thus this man would no longer be sleeping in a place

[00:15:15] of despair. His home was changing. Instantly the man got wailed, picked up his mat and started to walk.

[00:15:25] In spite of Jesus' miraculous healing, there was a problem that day was Sabbath.

[00:15:34] It wasn't a problem for Jesus but it was for the Jewish religion leaders. They considered picking

[00:15:41] up a mat to be work and therefore prohibited on the Sabbath so they rebuked the man.

[00:15:50] They had taken a divine command that would provide physical rest for God's people

[00:16:00] and turn it into a human restriction on acts of mercy. This is what my commentary is saying.

[00:16:10] The man who made well told me to pick up my mat, the man indicates to the Jewish people.

[00:16:17] He indicates that the healed man preferred to listen to the one with the miraculous power,

[00:16:25] not leaders who were just practicing religion. He had lain there for 38 years and the religious

[00:16:36] leaders had never aided him in his healing. Someone unknown here who fixed his legs and commanded

[00:16:45] him to carry his mat. There was no question about whom he would listen to.

[00:16:51] The leaders wanted to know who is this miraculous healer, but Jesus had slipped away.

[00:17:01] And this gives us a brief overview of what the commentary has to say.

[00:17:08] It goes on to say later Jesus found the man in the temple and said,

[00:17:12] see you are well. Do not sin anymore so that something worse doesn't happen to you.

[00:17:21] And the author of this commentary poses a question, is it possible then that the man had been struck

[00:17:28] because of unaddressed sins in his life? Sins carry long-term consequences.

[00:17:36] Having an encounter with Jesus again, the man had been healed, found the Jewish leaders

[00:17:44] and pointed out to him that the man who had done this healing was Jesus.

[00:17:50] One would think that they would have been excited to meet Jesus instead they began to persecute

[00:17:56] Jesus because he was doing these things once happened. While Jesus was changing lives,

[00:18:04] the leaders were playing religion. My commentary also goes on to say no matter how much

[00:18:10] religious activity you are engaged in, if you're not in the business of changing lives

[00:18:18] then you're not in the business of Jesus. And I have to add my own little swag to that as the

[00:18:27] young folks say. I've been saying that for some time now that when I bought myself,

[00:18:39] or humbled myself to come back to Christ, I wanted to be in the business of changing people's lives

[00:18:50] and I've had some obstacles and hiccups in my way. But as long as I keep my hand in Jesus' hand

[00:19:01] and let him keep that covering and that hedge of protection around and about me,

[00:19:07] I know I'm going to be okay. We are in the business of being missionaries, humbling ourselves

[00:19:16] before God and changing lives. We are particular people. We're not to be doing as we see the world

[00:19:26] doing with our behaviors, our secular nature's. But we are to be examples of Jesus Christ and what

[00:19:37] he stood for. Love, not oppression, not dumping someone or adding more to their plate by talking

[00:19:51] about them, using them, misusing them. We are to be help mates to all people that is our job,

[00:20:00] just like what Jesus did when he walked. My commentary goes on to tell me that Jesus justified his

[00:20:09] activity on the Sabbath by telling them, my father is still working and I'm working also.

[00:20:17] God the Father was engaged in kingdom business and so was his son. And when they heard

[00:20:25] this, the Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus not only because he was breaking the Sabbath,

[00:20:30] but because he was calling God his own father, making his self equal to God.

[00:20:38] They hadn't misunderstood Jesus. They knew exactly what he was saying. The son shared the Father's

[00:20:44] divine nature. He had the DNA of the divine. As John himself has already said,

[00:20:53] the word was with God and the word was God. But as far as the leaders were concerned,

[00:21:02] Jesus claims were blasphemous. My commentary goes on to tell me, but Jesus wasn't committing blasphemy.

[00:21:12] He was acting in perfect harmony and solidarity with his father. The son does not only do what he sees

[00:21:21] his father doing. Their relationship is so close that they function simultaneously.

[00:21:29] So whatever Jesus was doing, the Father was doing. Thus healing the man on Sabbath was not blasphemy

[00:21:38] but an act of God. My commentary goes on to break down chapter 5 verse 20 and it talks about the

[00:21:48] Father loving the son. The Father loves the son. The Godhead is united in a perfect love,

[00:21:58] transparency and intimacy. This line then is a warning to religious leaders that the one whom they

[00:22:08] wanted to kill was so dearly loved by God the Father. And because of that, the Father would show him

[00:22:15] greater works than these. So they would be amazed. These works include raising the dead.

[00:22:24] So in a way, Jesus was telling them, you think you're upset now because I healed a paralyzed man.

[00:22:32] You haven't seen anything yet. Wait until you see what I do with Lazarus and we all know that story.

[00:22:39] When we're doing what God is calling us to do, we do it with love. We do it out of love.

[00:22:48] Not obligation. We can go to church and participate in all the wonderful things that we want

[00:22:54] to participate in. I'm example of that. I got my hands on a little bit of everything.

[00:23:01] But I'm doing it because of the love of God and not because I'm trying to prove a point.

[00:23:07] It's because what God laid on my heart to do. He's been so good to me that I can't help but

[00:23:16] to help somebody else, especially if you see a need. And this is a prime example of Jesus

[00:23:24] seeing a need, seeing the man laying there and asking him if he wanted to get well.

[00:23:31] As we go on over to chapter six, I want to break down what my commissary says and what we read yesterday.

[00:23:45] Chapter six, verse one, Jesus had been ministering in Galilee and a huge crowd following him

[00:23:51] because of the miraculous signs he performed. The Passover was near and therefore many people

[00:23:57] were gathering and would make their journey to Jerusalem. Jesus our crowd in that spillo where

[00:24:04] they could buy bread for everyone to eat, but he knew what he intended to do and was saying this

[00:24:12] to test Philip. My commentary gives us an example. Teachers give students tests to allow them to apply

[00:24:22] what they've learned. When God tests us, He grants us an opportunity to apply spiritual truth

[00:24:29] to challenging circumstances we face with thousands of hungry people gathering. Jesus gave Philip

[00:24:37] a pop quiz he'd never forget. Philip responded that 200 denari over six months of wages wouldn't be

[00:24:47] enough to feed the crowd and he was right, but Jesus wasn't asking about the cause. He was asking

[00:24:56] where the food would come from an Andrew at least pointed to a food source a boy with five

[00:25:04] barley loaves and two fish. However, he observed what are they for how many?

[00:25:14] Neither man could see a resolution to the dilemma. It goes on to talk about Jesus had the people sit

[00:25:23] down and the number of men were five thousand. Thus, were women and children included.

[00:25:32] There could have been over 15,000 people present at my commentary says.

[00:25:39] Then taking the loaves and the fish, Jesus gave thanks thanking God for what was not nearly enough.

[00:25:49] After that, He distributed the food and miraculously everyone ate as much as they wanted.

[00:25:57] Jesus took insufficiency. Thank God for it and provided more than enough.

[00:26:04] Don't let your lack of resources limit what God can do.

[00:26:10] I offer prayers of thanks given even in the midst of your efficiency.

[00:26:17] And that was a prime example right there of what God does for us on a daily basis. His grace and

[00:26:26] his mercy is new every single day. And sometimes I think we as people forget that, we forget that if

[00:26:35] God didn't breathe His breath into our bodies every morning, we wouldn't have the ability to get

[00:26:41] up one then alarm clock goes off, get up and go to work, make a breakfast, pack our lunch,

[00:26:48] work an eight hour day. The knowledge that He gives us to go to school to get that education

[00:26:55] to do things like be physicians, like be doctors and lawyers and teachers, mothers, fathers.

[00:27:08] It also goes on to talk about when everyone was schooled, Jesus had the disciples collect the

[00:27:14] left overs, which filled 12 baskets. 12 baskets, guys. Can you imagine

[00:27:24] taking five loads of bread and two fish and feet and 15,000 people?

[00:27:34] And my aunt, we always talking about the word. And when we got to this particular portion a

[00:27:43] couple months ago back in our Bible study, we talked about how we have microphones and stuff here.

[00:27:52] And she said, can you imagine that many people being gathered without the microphones and the

[00:27:59] gadgets that we have today? And Jesus talking to 5,000 plus people, not hyalurant, not screaming,

[00:28:11] but just talking to them. And they had the ear to hear and they wanted more of what Jesus had to

[00:28:20] offer. Now, some did it because they sing the songs and the wonders. Some did it simply because

[00:28:31] they loved Jesus and they knew he was the Christ. They knew it in their heart. This is a heart

[00:28:39] thing I'm always saying, it is a heart thing. And it takes some of us a while to get that.

[00:28:47] I know it took me a while to get it, but this is a heart thing. Everything that we do,

[00:28:52] we have to do it out of love. We have to do it out of love, the same love that a God-be-love

[00:29:00] that Jesus died on the cross for us, for our sins. It goes on to tell us real quick that

[00:29:09] when they saw the sign, the people exclaimed, this truly is the prophet who is to come into the world.

[00:29:18] They recognized that Jesus miracles pointed to his identity so far, so good. But when Jesus realized

[00:29:26] that they wanted to make him by force, a king, he withdrew again into the mountains to himself.

[00:29:37] When Jesus was still on the mountain, the disciples got into the bow and started across the sea.

[00:29:42] And since he had not yet arrived, a high wind started to blow and the waves began to charm.

[00:29:52] As if that weren't bad enough, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and the sight terrified them.

[00:30:01] They feared he was a ghost. Jesus calmed their fears and assured them that he was no spactor.

[00:30:10] So they were willing to take him on board. And then at once the boat was at shore, where they were heading.

[00:30:21] Many gathered to find out where Jesus was the next day. My commentary tells me.

[00:30:28] The next day, the crowd that he had left behind was puzzled.

[00:30:35] The disciples had departed in a boat, but Jesus hadn't been with them. Yet Jesus was nowhere near to be found.

[00:30:45] So they sailed to Cabernam and found Jesus on the other side of the sea.

[00:30:52] How is that possible? He hadn't left in a boat. So they asked him, where did you go?

[00:30:59] They suspect that Jesus had arrived in some type of supernatural way. My commentary says,

[00:31:10] and spider there's a pursuit in of him. Jesus could not motivate their hearts.

[00:31:20] He said to them, you're looking for me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate the

[00:31:26] loaves and were filled. They hadn't sought him for who he was then. They sought him for what he could

[00:31:36] give them. They didn't want to know him, but they wanted his blessings. God isn't opposed to

[00:31:45] bless some people. He is opposed to whoever to people who simply want to use him for his blessings.

[00:31:54] People who only want him for the stuff he can provide. He is looking for those who don't want his

[00:32:02] blessings without him. When they as relight sand against the Lord by constructing a gold calf,

[00:32:10] he told Moses that though he would give them the land of Canaan, he himself would not accompany them.

[00:32:19] But Moses would have none of that. He didn't want the promised land unless God would go with them.

[00:32:28] When you won't got more of God than you want his blessings, you'll receive him as well as

[00:32:36] whatever else he graciously plans to give you. We are to pursue more of God, not just more from God.

[00:32:48] And this all came out of my commentary this morning. I hope you heard something that blessed your spirit.

[00:32:56] I didn't read a word this morning. A, because I left my Bible in my bedroom. B, maybe this is work

[00:33:06] I wanted me to go with this after we read it on yesterday to give you something to meditate on.

[00:33:13] Going into this weekend, the holiday weekend as we fellowship with our family and friends and take

[00:33:20] trips. Think about what you can do for God. And I said this a few weeks ago, I wake up thinking

[00:33:29] God first of how he breathed his breath into my body. And I lay there and I meditate on just that fat

[00:33:38] another day, new grace, new mercy. No matter what the obstacle that I may face throughout that day,

[00:33:48] I hold on to the fact that I'm still here. And if I'm still here, then he has a plan for my life.

[00:33:57] But I also hold on to the fact of God, what can I do for you today?

[00:34:03] And every now and again, it may be nothing other than just a thank him. Go through my day,

[00:34:09] thank them sometimes. I find myself thanking God if I'm just washing the dishes,

[00:34:16] if I'm just walking around the house or just out and about, just thank you Lord.

[00:34:22] Crying out to them, thanking them for his grace and his mercy because he don't have to do a whole

[00:34:28] lot for any of us. And some people do have it worse, but I don't want you to take today to think

[00:34:36] of it in that way. Think about your own circumstances and your own relationship with our Heavenly Father.

[00:34:42] And what can you do for him today? Because he's already blessed you abundantly if you're able

[00:34:50] to sit and watch this live right now. You still alive, you still breathe it.

[00:34:57] So what can you do for him today? Show a act of kindness or just perhaps spend a few more minutes with

[00:35:04] him sometime in your day. Just stop to think him just because because we ask a lot of our Heavenly Father.

[00:35:13] We ask him to get us out of situations to put a hedge protection over our friends, our family.

[00:35:20] We ask him for his guidance. We ask him for his insight. We ask him to be healed,

[00:35:26] to be made whole. He's already died on the cross for that, for all of us.

[00:35:32] He's already given us all the tools that we could possibly ever need in life.

[00:35:40] We just got to put them to work. My seasoned bishop has this saying and I love it and I took it

[00:35:47] and ran with it when I heard it last year. He said, you got to work the world. That means you can't

[00:35:54] just read the word. You can't just read it. You got to work it. The Bible is a roadmap to life.

[00:36:04] You pull your gyms out of it and apply what you can apply for that day. Minute by minute,

[00:36:12] second by second hour by hour. He told us not to worry about tomorrow. Oh, ye a little faith.

[00:36:19] He said if he can close the birds in the air, the lilies in the field, the grass in the field,

[00:36:27] how much more can he do for us? And that is what the Bible is. It's a roadmap to life.

[00:36:36] I think it's a really good thing. Real quick, a funny story. My auntie pulled me aside

[00:36:41] a few weeks ago because I said, you know, I don't think I'm getting enough. I don't think I'm just

[00:36:46] getting enough and she said, you know, the memory of the righteous is blessed. My Bible tells me

[00:36:56] that. She said, but what are you doing with all that study and that you're doing? You cannot

[00:37:02] apply it all at one time. What are you in a hairy for? She said, I asked you that question,

[00:37:10] what are you in a hairy for? It took you years to decide to do it God's way.

[00:37:19] So you can absorb as much of the word as you want to but what are you in a hairy for?

[00:37:26] Let God have his way when you go and stop and let God have his way in your life. And she said,

[00:37:35] I'm going to keep asking you that because I hear you keep saying, I, I, I, me, me, me, you ain't doing

[00:37:42] nothing. This God is doing it. So ask him to remove you and let him have his way, feel you up

[00:37:54] with more of him and less of you. And I took that and I meditated on that.

[00:38:03] And I am glad today that he did bring someone in my life, although I made the first step to make

[00:38:10] him a part of my life. He brought someone in my life because I don't have my mother anymore.

[00:38:16] I don't have my father or grandparents on either side. He still bought someone in my life

[00:38:22] that has a personal relationship with him that can help me with my womb. And maybe that's a part

[00:38:30] of developing my character you just never know. But I know two things for sure and one things for

[00:38:38] certain, I know that he loves me with all his heart. And all he wants is the best for me.

[00:38:44] Blessings on top of blessings, love on top of love. And if that's all he gives me for the rest

[00:38:50] of my life is his love and his joy to share with the world. That is my job. So ask God what you can

[00:38:58] do for him today instead of what he can do for you today, you'll be amazed how he pours out his

[00:39:08] love on you. I made living witness. I am a walking testimony of him pouring out his love for me.

[00:39:19] When I felt like I didn't deserve it. Peace and blessings to you all today before I get to

[00:39:27] sentimental on you guys. Thank you for watching the show. Come again, come again Monday, Wednesday

[00:39:35] and Fridays. We have morning inspirations, a little bit of Bible study, a little bit of reading

[00:39:42] of the word. Be blessed on your holiday weekend. Enjoy your Easter with your family or friends. But

[00:39:48] meditate on God's word and what it means to you. And just don't celebrate the fact that God died on

[00:39:54] the cross and rose on the third day, just because it's Easter. Celebrate that every day you're like.

[00:40:04] Peace and blessings to you.
