[00:01:07] feeling blessed all this beautiful beautiful Thursday morning that God has

[00:01:12] decided to bless us in yes yes yes yes this is a Thursday pop up with

[00:01:19] your girl let's go ahead and give them some praise right where you're sitting

[00:01:23] right where you stand in possibly still laying in your bed if you like me it's a

[00:01:28] jury day out here but I'm getting it together getting my clothes on and hand it

[00:01:34] out out to the doctor but we have to give him glory for everything that we're

[00:01:39] doing that he's doing in our lives right now right now for me he's doing some

[00:01:45] wonderful things so haven't look father we just lift you up this morning we

[00:01:51] thank you this morning for your grace and your mercy because it is everlasting

[00:01:57] we come humbly but boldly to the throne confessing all our sins on

[00:02:02] Heavenly Father we ask that you forgive us for anything that we said done or

[00:02:09] thought that was unpleasing unto you Heavenly Father won this day for the God order

[00:02:15] our footsteps lead us Father God like you said in your word beside still waters

[00:02:23] lead us through green pastures or Heavenly Father Heavenly Father you said in

[00:02:28] your word that if you could love the birds and air and the lilies in the fields

[00:02:33] how much more can you do for us Heavenly Father let us stand on our faith today

[00:02:40] Father God as small as a mustard seed Heavenly Father let our light shine before

[00:02:46] me and so that you can get the glory our Father in heaven Heavenly Father is we go out

[00:02:54] and journey on this day minute by minute second by second Heavenly Father let us be able to stand

[00:03:01] put on our breastplate of righteousness

[00:03:06] gird our ways with the truth put on a helmet of salvation should I

[00:03:11] feet with the peace which is the gospel and stand stand on your word Heavenly Father

[00:03:19] in Jesus name we pray we pray for those that I've lost loved ones we pray for those

[00:03:26] and Baltimore or Heavenly Father cover them with your blood or Heavenly Father

[00:03:31] we know that the blood still works we pray for the leaders of this nation those that you have put

[00:03:39] in position Father God you said that your thoughts are high above our thoughts and your ways

[00:03:47] are high above our ways Heavenly Father so we want to thank you this morning and we just

[00:03:51] bless your name right now Lord hallelujah tell your name Lord because you are worthy to be praised

[00:04:00] on this day in Jesus name we pray amen and amen so guys I just popped out real quick

[00:04:10] I am headed out to the doctor's office and I thought I'd go ahead and get this out of the way

[00:04:17] before 11 o'clock I got some things I got to get done you know we go through life and life just

[00:04:27] keeps on life and just keeps moving along whether we want it to or not but as promised I wanted to

[00:04:38] get back into the book of John and I was hoping by tomorrow I wouldn't have to skip

[00:04:49] any chapters or any sections but you just never know

[00:04:56] you just never know these days all right let's get to it let's get to it let's get to it

[00:05:04] let me just one second guys one second as I flip through my nifty Bible and as you guys can see

[00:05:16] I did not pick up my word this morning I waited to do it now

[00:05:24] so we are going to get into our women's history international history

[00:05:42] and the one that I don't think that I have read about yet is Diana and for women's history month

[00:05:55] I'm going to read to you a little bit about Diana

[00:06:02] Diana in abuse woman Diana is forgotten she is a forgotten woman of the Bible

[00:06:10] while we know much about her brothers Jacob's 12 sons we know a little about this female child

[00:06:17] Jacob's only dollar mentioned in scripture jenesis 34 tells the story of Diana the daughter of Jacob

[00:06:25] and Leah Diana left the Hebrew campsite to visit the women in the land away from the protection

[00:06:33] of her family inclaimed Diana was taken by she cam the slum of a local ruler and raped

[00:06:43] when Jacob learned his daughter was raped he was silent he did not protest against her treatment

[00:06:50] instead he listened to the appeal of Diana's rapist in the interest in interest a political harmony

[00:06:58] between the Hebrews and the highlights while Jacob continued to negotiate Diana's brothers

[00:07:05] began plotting against the highlights meanwhile Diana was noticeably absent from the proceedings

[00:07:14] according to the story her feelings and her views were never taken into consideration

[00:07:20] and not until verse 26 there's the reader learned that Diana had been in she cam's house all along

[00:07:30] as a woman of color we may relate to Diana's story we may have been devalued simple

[00:07:38] for simply for being born female in a culture in which male children are granted more prestige and

[00:07:45] promise perhaps we've been abused in the name of love and so-called loving relationships

[00:07:52] while those around us ignored our pain perhaps family members and friends are fully aware of the

[00:08:00] abuse but haven't chosen to tear away and but have chosen to turn away in silence this chapter

[00:08:09] tells a tragic story is there any redemption here first we can relate to the anger of Diana's

[00:08:17] brothers when they learn of her rape they declare the rape should not have been done

[00:08:24] they declared that a violation of one woman is a front to an entire community

[00:08:32] and while their methods of revenge are horrible to us they ultimately remove Diana from her place

[00:08:42] of violation we need to have the same anger as Diana's brothers had when we hear a violence

[00:08:49] awards our abuse sisters we too can declare that physical and mental abuse are unacceptable

[00:08:59] in a fan the entire community we must not be silent this was written by Amcola and the question

[00:09:08] posed here is when have you seen another woman mistreated when have you experienced abuse

[00:09:15] how can you take action against the wrong done to you and your sisters and the writer encourages us

[00:09:22] to read Genesis chapter 34 the reading of this came out of the women of the Bible for women

[00:09:30] of color by urban spirits so let's move on to the word this morning

[00:09:42] John chapter five and after this there was a feast of the Jews and Jesus went up to Jerusalem

[00:09:52] there in Jerusalem by the chic gate a pool which is called in Hebrew Bethesda have her five porches

[00:10:02] in these lay a great multitude of sick people blonde lame paralyzed waiting for the moving of water

[00:10:11] for an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water

[00:10:18] then whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made well of whatever disease he had

[00:10:26] now a certain man was there who had an infirmity 38 years when Jesus saw him land there

[00:10:34] and knew that he had already had been in that condition a long time he said to him do you want

[00:10:41] to be made well the sick man answered him sir I have no man to put me into the pool when the water

[00:10:50] is stirred up but while I'm coming another steps steps down before me Jesus said to him rise take

[00:11:00] up your bed and walk and immediately the man was made well took a best bed and walked and that day

[00:11:10] was the Sabbath the Jews therefore said to him who was cured it is the Sabbath it is not

[00:11:19] lawful for you to carry your bed he answered them he who made me well said to me take up your bed

[00:11:28] and walk then they asked him who is the man who you said to you who is the man who said to you

[00:11:37] take up your bed and walk but the one who was healed did not know who he was for Jesus had withdrawn

[00:11:46] a multitude being in that place afterwards Jesus found him in the temple and said to him see

[00:11:55] you have been made well seen no more less a worse thing come upon you

[00:12:01] the man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well for this reason the Jews

[00:12:09] persecuted Jesus and sought to kill him because he had done these things on the Sabbath but Jesus

[00:12:18] answered them my father has been working until now and I have been working therefore the Jews

[00:12:26] sought all to more to kill him because he had not only broken the Sabbath but also said that

[00:12:33] the God was his father making himself equal with God then Jesus answered and said to them mostly

[00:12:43] surely I say to you the son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the father do for what he

[00:12:52] does the son also does in a like manner for the father loves the son and shows him all things

[00:13:00] that himself does and he will show him greater works than these that you may marvel

[00:13:09] for as the father raises the dead and gives life to them even so the son gives life to whom he

[00:13:17] will for the father judges no one but has committed all judgment to the son that all should honor

[00:13:26] the son just as they honor the father he who does not honor the son does not honor the father who

[00:13:34] sent him most of surely I say to you he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has

[00:13:42] everlasting life and shall now come into judgment but has passed from death into life most

[00:13:52] of surely I say to you the hour is coming and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the

[00:13:59] son of God and those who hear will live for as the father has life in himself so he has

[00:14:11] granted the son to have life in himself and has given him authority to execute judgment also

[00:14:20] because he is the son of man do not marvel at this for the hours coming in which all who are in

[00:14:27] grace where here is voice and come forth those who have done good to the resurrection of life

[00:14:39] and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation I can of myself do nothing

[00:14:47] as I hear I judge and my judgment is righteous because I do not seek my father's own will but the

[00:14:55] will of the father who sent me if I bear witness on myself my witness is not true there is another

[00:15:06] who bears witness on me and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true

[00:15:14] you have you have sent to John and has borne witness to the truth yet I do not receive testimony

[00:15:23] from man but I say these things that you may be saved he was the burning and shining lamp

[00:15:34] and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light but I have a greater witness than John

[00:15:42] for the works which the father has given me to finish the very works that I do bear witness of me

[00:15:50] that the father has sent me and the father himself who sent me has testified of me

[00:15:58] you have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his form but you do not have

[00:16:07] but you do not have his word abiding in you because whom he sent him you do not believe

[00:16:15] you search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and these are they which

[00:16:25] testify of me but you're not willing to come to me that you may have life I do not receive honor

[00:16:36] from man but I know you that you do not have the love of God in you I have come in my father's name

[00:16:47] and you do not receive me if another comes in his own name him you will receive

[00:16:55] how can you believe who receive honor from one another and do not seek the honor that comes

[00:17:01] from the only God do you think that I share accuse you to the father there is one who accuses you

[00:17:11] Moses in whom you trust if you believe in Moses you will believe in me for he wrote about me

[00:17:21] but if you do not believe in his writings how will you believe in my words chapter six

[00:17:32] after these things Jesus sent over went over to the sea of Galilee which is in the sea a taberes

[00:17:42] then a great multitude following him because they saw his sons which he performed on those who

[00:17:48] were diseased and Jesus went up on the mountain and there he sat with his disciples now the

[00:17:56] Passover a feast of Jews was near then Jesus lifted up his eyes and seeing a great multitude

[00:18:03] coming towards him he said to Philip where should we bop around that they may eat

[00:18:10] but this he said to test him for he himself knew what he would do

[00:18:16] Philip answered him 200 deniery worth of bread is not sufficient for them that every one of them

[00:18:26] may have a little one of his disciples Andrew Salman Peter's brother said to him there is a lad here

[00:18:34] who has five barley loaths and two small fish but what are they among so many

[00:18:42] then Jesus said make the people sit down now there was much grass in the place so the man sat down

[00:18:51] and numbered by 5,000 and Jesus took the loaths and when he had given things he distributed them to

[00:18:59] the disciples and disciples to those sitting down and likewise of the fish as much as they wanted

[00:19:07] so when they were filled he said to the disciples gather up the fragments that remain

[00:19:14] so that nothing is lost

[00:19:20] therefore they gathered them up and filled 12 baskets with the fragments of the five barley

[00:19:28] loaths which were left over by those who had eaten

[00:19:33] then those men when they had seen the son that Jesus did said this is truly the prophet

[00:19:41] who is to come into the world therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and

[00:19:48] take him by force to make him king he departed again to the mountain by himself

[00:19:55] now when evening came his disciples went down to the sea

[00:20:00] and got into the boat and went over the sea towards Cabernagua

[00:20:08] and it was already dark and Jesus had not come to them

[00:20:14] then the sea rose because of a great wind was blowing

[00:20:19] and when they had rode about three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near

[00:20:27] the boat and they were afraid but he said to them it is I do not be afraid

[00:20:35] then they willingly received him into the boat and immediately the boat was at the land where they

[00:20:41] were going on the following day when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea

[00:20:48] saw that there was no other boat there except the one which his disciples had entered

[00:20:54] and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples but his disciples had gone away alone

[00:21:02] however other boats came from Tiberas near the place where the eight-bred after the Lord had given

[00:21:09] things and when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples

[00:21:16] they also got into the boats and came to Cabernagua, Cabernam seeking Jesus

[00:21:25] and when they found him on the other side of the sea they said to him,

[00:21:28] Robby when did you come here? And Jesus answered them and said most assuredly I will say to you

[00:21:36] you seek me not because you saw the signs but because you ate of the loaves and were filled

[00:21:43] but do not labor for the food which perishes but for food which endures to everlasting life

[00:21:53] which the Son of Man will give you because God the Father has set his seal on them

[00:22:02] then they said to him what shall we do that we may work the works of God?

[00:22:09] Jesus answered and said to them this is the work of God that you believe in him who he sent

[00:22:17] therefore they said to him what sign will you perform then that we may see it and believe you

[00:22:24] what works will you do? I fathers ate the manna in the desert as it is written

[00:22:31] he gave them bread from heaven to eat then Jesus said to them most assuredly I say to you

[00:22:38] Moses did not give you the bread from heaven but my father gives you the true bread from heaven

[00:22:46] for the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world

[00:22:54] then they said to him Lord give us this bread always and Jesus said to them I am the bread of life

[00:23:03] he who comes to me should never hunger and he who believes in me should never thirst

[00:23:12] but I say to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe all that the Father gives me will come

[00:23:21] to me and the one who comes to me I will buy no means cast out for I've come down from heaven not

[00:23:31] to do my own will but the will of him who sent me this is the will of the Father who sent me

[00:23:39] that of all he has given me I shall lose nothing but she raised it up on the last day

[00:23:51] and this is the will of him who sent me that everyone who sees the sons and believes in him

[00:23:59] may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day

[00:24:06] the Jews didn't complain about him because he said I am the bread which came down from heaven

[00:24:13] and they said is it not this Jesus the son of Joseph whose father and mother we know

[00:24:20] how is it then that he says I have come down from heaven

[00:24:25] Jesus therefore answered and said to them do not mumber among yourselves

[00:24:32] no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him and I raise him up at the last day

[00:24:41] it is written in the prophets and they shall be all be taught by God therefore everyone

[00:24:49] who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me not that anyone that has sent the Father

[00:24:58] except he who is from God he has seen the Father most assurably I say to you he who believes in me

[00:25:06] has everlasting life I am the bread alive your Father's eighth the mana and the wilderness and are

[00:25:15] dead this is the bread which comes down from heaven that one may eat a bit and not die

[00:25:23] I am the living bread which came down from heaven if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever

[00:25:30] in the bread that I shall give is my flesh which I shall give for the life of the world

[00:25:38] the Jews therefore a quarrel among themselves saying how can this man give us his flesh to eat

[00:25:47] then Jesus said that they are most assurably I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the son of man

[00:25:54] and drink his blood you have no life in you

[00:26:00] whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life

[00:26:05] and I will raise him up at the last day my flesh is food indeed

[00:26:12] and my blood is drink indeed he eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him

[00:26:22] as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father so he who feeds on me will live

[00:26:30] because of me this is the bread which came down from heaven not as your Father ate the mana

[00:26:38] and are dead who eats this bread will live forever these things he said in the synagogue as he taught

[00:26:46] in Cabernacle therefore many of his disciples when they heard this said this is a heart saying

[00:26:55] who can understand it and when Jesus knew in himself that his disciples complained about this he

[00:27:02] said to them does this offend you what then if I what then if you should see the son of man

[00:27:11] a sin where he was before it is the spirit who gives life the flesh profits nothing

[00:27:19] the word that I speak to you are spirit and they are in life but there are some of you who do not

[00:27:27] believe for Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe and who would betray him

[00:27:35] and he said therefore I have said to you that no one can come to me unless it's being

[00:27:41] granted to him by my father from that time many of his disciples went back and walked with him no more

[00:27:51] then Jesus said to the 12 do you also want to go away but Simon Peter answered him Lord to whom

[00:28:00] shall we go you have the words of eternal light also we have come to believe and know that

[00:28:07] you are the Christ the son of the living God Jesus answered them

[00:28:16] Jesus answered them did I not choose you the 12 and one of you is a devil he spoke of Judas

[00:28:27] is a cut the son of Simon for it was he who would betray him being one of the 12 that was chapter

[00:28:41] chapter six five six and seven that we read this morning it is so impactful I don't have

[00:28:56] quite time to break it down this morning I got to get out of here guys I may come back a little bit later

[00:29:04] but if not we get into it all the time Friday good Friday we'll jump into this world

[00:29:16] if you will bring fame but I believe you with this he said in his room that we cannot come

[00:29:26] to him let this good at our father he came to give us life

[00:29:34] the brilliant the one his blood you said I am the living tree which came down from heaven

[00:29:44] I flesh which I should give you to the world aren't you glad about it today aren't you glad that he came

[00:29:56] to fulfill God's promises peace and blessings to you all until next time if it be in God's room we'll see
